The floral textiles of William Morris are perhaps his most recognisable creations. They summarise much about his personality and artistic career, pointing to his passionate protection of the natural environment and also the finely honed skills of illustration that unpinned pretty much everything that he produced.

The term of textile covers several different mediums in which artist Morris worked, and he switched from one to another in several phases of his career. Many art followers may find it hard to differentiate between some of the technical terms used here, such as embroidery against tapestry. This website aims to separate these into a clearer format and detail the technical intricacies of each. Morris himself, as well as his colleagues, were particularly curious artists who would always be looking to add new skills into their repetoire and perhaps find new avenues for their creativity.
