The Enchanted Pose

The Enchanted Pose is a painting painted in 1927 by the very well known and respected artist. The artist is none other than Rene' Magritte.

Rene Magritte was born in 1898 in Belgium. Although little is known about Magritte' s childhood it is his art that people will never forget. The very interesting painting shows two nude females in a unique interior setting.

The Enchanted Pose was however reported stolen in the 1930s. There are experts who examine the famous Rene' Magritte's paintings. They are constantly looking for more paintings by the artist to examine their compositions. Sometime between 1927 and 1930 Rene' is said to have cut the painting into pieces and recycled to paint over.

There are four pieces found of the painting. Three of them have been identified but the fourth is still unknown. The pieces were found in his other paintings. For example, the third fragment of the painting was discovered underneath a painting called The Human Condition in 2016. The piece was found at the Norwich Castle museum and art gallery.

There are a lot of myths and misconceptions surrounding The Enchanted pose and why he divided it. Some people have said that it was because it lacked a buyer. Some people have come out dismissing this claim. How can that be true and when it was first presented the audience loved and praised it. People came from all over to see the art.

Experts have agreed that he sure was a talented artist. Magritte's married his beautiful wife Georgette Berger 1922. They had met earlier in their teens and he said that she was his muse. A good artist will definitely inspire other upcoming artists and that is what Rene' Magritte did. These artists have made a name for themselves in the painting world such artists. Such artists include Ed Ruscha and Duane Michals.

There are artists who took a lot of inspiration from Rene's work. These does not mean that his work was not plagiarised because it has been. They copy the painting as pass them as the real stuff or their original which is sad. That is a huge problem in the industry. You can go tho the Magritte museum to see some of his great works.
