Renoir was able to produce a lot of impressive paintings both in classical and impressionist painting. Among his most notable paintings include: The Theatre Box - This painting, otherwise known as La loge was painted by Renoir between the year 1884 and 1887. The painting is one of Renoirs most popular pieces of impressionist paintings since it his main exhibit at the first impressionist painting exhibition in 1874. After the rejection of most of their paintings for being so unconventional, Renoir together with other like-minded painters put the impressionist painting exhibition in 1874. The painting depicts an elegantly dressed lady sitting close to a male companion.
