Ejiri in Suruga Province

Located on Tökaidö Road and a home for amazing pine trees Ejiri is at the very foot of the Fuji mountain. In Hokusai's piece on Enjiri in Suruga province, he shows a wind hitting the travellers strongly. They are seen trying to get low and holding on tho their hats. Papers are coming out of a woman bag pack and her cloth covers her face.

Leaves are seen falling and flying from a nearby tree and a man is seen trying to hold on to his hat but with no avail. As all this is happening the great Fuji mountain stands bothered in the background. The passengers are facing away from us as if we are the source of the wind it makes it quite interesting. Great artists have in the past displaced the beautiful pines and even referred to by iconic poets too. They always draw inspiration from the forest. However, Hokusai took a different view and went deeper into details not just showing the pines. He shows how human beings react when affected by nature and he did a good job of creating the motion look.

The Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji are all amazing pieces of art. He was so in love with art that he couldn't even clean out the house. He kept on moving always looking for inspiration. Even though he was known in his theories he got more success at a later age of 70 years. Artists are always trying to get inspiration and changing their name sometimes may help. Hokusai was always signing off his art with a different name. Just like his homes, he changed his name a lot.

Art critics and lovers both agreed that his art and style was very different. Some even called him cocky but admitted that he was very passionate. By breaking his work into series such as the Thirty-six view of mount fuji he tells more of a story.On this pieces, he dared to try different styles but without forgetting tradition. In the series, he shows the different views of Mount Fuji in a way that no artist has before and the Ejiri art is among the pieces that spoke the most to the people.
