Dante was a legend. Dante Alighieri, both Poet, and politician, is banished from Florence the same way he had dismissed other rivals. Being one of the most outspoken politicians as well being on the front to fight for humanity, he was always a target.

Then, he was able to be exiled away from his home. The fact that Frederic can capture Dante’s life journey while in exile in the painting Dante in exile is mind-blowing. How can a man be able to capture a whole life event in just a painting? That is Frederic, to everyone an artistic genius. The artwork is a history painting that uses the oil canvas technique of art.

One thing that makes his work admirable is that he was able to capture and bring out what most people could not see. Apart from Dante in exile, other works are done by Frederic include; Icarus and Daedalus of 1869, Light of the Harem of 1880, Faticida of 1864, and many other commendable actions. Some of his greatest inspiration includes the twelfth Norman Arab place called LaZisa in Palermo Sicily. Apart from that, his childhood instructor Johan Edward Stenle, was also his motivation. He has inspired great art and great people of today. Some of the artists inspired by him include; William Michael Rossetti and William Holman Hunt. His work is featured even today in great galleries in London and the whole world.

Most lecturers use him as a reference when it comes to excellent artwork. People will often say he painted with his soul and not his hands as the paintings were exceptional and they brought out the whole story. The most celebrated works of the mind will forever be art. Either it's a painting or a mural or excellent classical music. This is because the art not only engages your mind but your soul as well. It is a combination of two powerful things to create a new kind of life. That is why arts legends are still celebrated up to date. The following will talk about the work of a great man. Frederic Leighton, the legendary painter, and sculptor that has ever lived in the artistic world.

So what makes him this great? The fact that he can be able to bring in classical, history and biblical intrusion into his painting puts him up in an artistic world. He brings to life exceptional stories of the past while celebrating events no one would ever think it was possible to. His work began from the 1880s to the 1890s. One of his best and inspiring works being the painting of Dante in exile. So why would a great man paint such an old history?
