The Making of a Fresco, Showing the Building of a City by Diego Rivera was painted by mixing paints of different colours using acrylic paint. The paints he used included white paint, grey paint, red paint and brown paint.

These were skillfully painted on a canvas surface which had been prepared mounted on a wooden wall surface. To paint this he uses several paint brushes for each and every paint. He also had a duster to make a few corrections and wore an apron to prevent his clothes from getting coloured by spill paints.

The Making of a Fresco, Showing the Building of a City by Diego Rivera, is a painting showing the different persons involved in the building of a city. As shown in the painting, it is easy to identify the architects as well as the structural engineers, the artisans, sculptors, unskilled labourers and painters. At the centre, there is a figure of a worker with a helmet, seen as exceedingly or unusually big compared to the size of the other workers. It is one painting that shows the building of a city and the creation of a fresco.

The painting, The Making of a Fresco, Showing the Building of a City by Diego Rivera is has a unique look compared to other paintings by Rivera. This is so because here were are able to see the artist, Rivera, with his two assistants John Hastings and Matthew Barnes at work and in one painting. This is unlike his other painting which he mostly showed his hatred for the rich. Here in this painting, he shows how the industrial worker supports the building of a city. The Making of a Fresco, Showing the Building of a City by Diego Rivera artwork is currently being found at San Francisco Art Institute, SFAI, in the section of ‘Diego Rivera Gallery’ where it was painted. SAFI is a private college in the Russian Hill district of San Francisco, California, United States. In this college, many artists have been inspired by Diego Rivera’s artwork which explains why there are quite a good number of notable artists.
